Terms & Conditions
By booking and participating in a hiking event with Trident Tours / Trident Tour Group, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Nature of Activities
Our hiking events take place in natural, outdoor environments, including but not limited to national parks, bushland, mountainous terrain, and coastal or inland trails.
These environments may involve but are not limited to the following:

Uneven, slippery, or unstable surfaces

Steep ascents and descents

Exposure to weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind)

Wildlife, including insects and reptiles
-
Limited access to emergency services
Participation is voluntary and undertaken at your own risk.
2. Participant Responsibility
By booking, you confirm that you:

Are physically and mentally capable of participating in the selected hike

Have disclosed any relevant medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or medications prior to the event

Will follow all instructions provided by the guide at all times
-
Accept responsibility for your own actions and decisions during the activity
Failure to follow guide instructions may result in removal from the activity without refund.
3. Fitness & Experience Levels
Each hike is graded based on difficulty, distance, elevation, and terrain.
It is your responsibility to:

Select an event appropriate for your fitness and experience level

Ask questions prior to booking if unsure of suitability
We reserve the right to decline participation on the day if a participant is deemed unfit or unsafe to continue.
4. Equipment & Clothing
Participants are responsible for bringing appropriate gear, including but not limited to:

Suitable footwear (e.g. trail shoes or hiking boots)

Adequate water and nutrition
-
Weather-appropriate clothing
-
Any personal medication
Failure to bring required equipment may result in exclusion from the activity.
5. Weather & Environmental Conditions
Hiking events may be modified, postponed, or cancelled due to but not limited to the following:

Extreme weather conditions
-
Fire danger ratings
-
Park closures
-
Safety concerns outside of our control
Where possible, alternative dates or credits may be offered. Refunds are not guaranteed for weather-related cancellations.
6. Risk Acknowledgement
You acknowledge that hiking involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Slips, trips, and falls
-
Physical exertion and fatigue
-
Environmental hazards
-
Injury or illness
By proceeding with your booking, you voluntarily assume all associated risks.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:

The Human Mechanic PTY LTD T/as Trident Tours / Trident Tour Group is not liable for injury, loss, damage, or death arising from participation, except where caused by proven negligence

You agree to release and indemnify the directors, organiser, guides, and affiliates from claims arising from your participation
This policy does not exclude rights under Australian Consumer Law.
8. Medical Emergencies
In the event of injury or illness:

You authorise the guide to arrange emergency treatment if required

Any costs incurred (medical, evacuation, transport) are your responsibility
Remote locations may involve delayed emergency response times.
9. Minors
Unless expressly stated otherwise:

Participants must be 18 years or older

Minors may only participate with written parental/guardian consent and approval by the organiser
10. Photography & Media
By attending, you consent to:

Photography or video captured during the event

Use of media for promotional or marketing purposes (Social media, websites, youtube)
You may opt out by notifying the guide prior to the event.
11. Acceptance of Policy
By completing your booking, you confirm that you:

Have read and understood this Hiking Events Policy

Accept all risks associated with participation

Agree to comply with all instructions and conditions
